Our 26th Annual Conference was held in Edinburgh, Scotland and hosted by Grant Gemmell of Facet5. The conference brought together assessment professionals from across Europe to explore AI, big data and the future of testing and assessment.

The conference explored some of the most significant developments shaping the assessment profession, including AI, machine learning, big data, evolving market dynamics and the future role of professional bodies in maintaining standards and quality.

Key speakers included:

• Kate Young (The Hiring Science Studio) – AI in Testing: Practical Implications for ETPG Members, exploring the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence presents for testing organisations and practitioners.

• Mark Schittekatte (Ghent University) – Impact of EFPA Review, examining developments within EFPA’s assessment work and the implications for publishers and practitioners.

• Sam Wass (Institute for the Science of Early Years) – Tests and Big Data, exploring how wearable technologies, machine learning and large-scale data collection are creating new opportunities to assess cognition in real-world contexts.

The conference also provided members with the opportunity to discuss the future direction of ETPG, strengthen relationships across the European assessment community and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
